The library at Business Academy Aarhus is located at the address: 
Sønderhøj 30, 8260 Viby J - 1. floor, on top of the canteen.

• 'The library' is the collective term for 
  - the physical library + the librarians' office
  - students' workshop (printer, stapler, laminator, binder, ID photo)
  - IT Servicedesk
  - Makerspace 'Create'
  - The bookshop Factum Books
• We also have app. 80 seatings for study groups and individuals: classic tables with office chairs, couch areas and tall tables.
  Via the app 'Spacewell Workspace' youl'll be able to overview study space possibilities. Find a guide to the app on StudyUpdate: 'Videoguides for students' >> 'Workplace' (bottom).

• The library is open 24/7 for all students with a valid study ID card.
• You borrow and return library materials using the self service device located in the library entrance area - no library staff intermediary needed!
• The library seatings are primarily workspaces. If there are other people working, please don't be too noisy.
• On the other hand: If there are no other present - feel free to make some noise, watch movies, game, eat pizza with your mouth open. 24/7!
• All we ask is to tidy up before you go: there are lots of bins (very useful for the gross nicotine pouches!!!), a trolley for tableware and 'waste management' paper towels.
• Please turn off the displays: save power!
  The lights go off automatically as everywhere else at the academy.
  Also close windows before you leave - even if you didn't open them! A nice gesture 👏🏻
• Via StudyUpdate you will be informed when the academy is totally locked off for students - even when you have a valid student ID card. Usually these short periods are during Christmas and Easter and a week in July.

Unless we're out of office, you'll find us at the library or the librarians' office during these hours:

• Monday - Thursday 9-16
• Friday 9-14

If we're out the entire day, we'll post it at the library website and StudyUpdate.

• We'll help you getting your feet right in desk research, find the relevant vocabulary, databases, explain chatbots, assist finding literature online/offline, or guide you thru source management.
• You're welcome anytime and you can even book a meeting.

• We would like to be prepared for your problems: After booking your meeting, please send information about topic and problems. This way we'll be the most effective!
• We'll meet at the library or at MS Teams - your choice.

Full-time students

Your data are imported to the library system as soon as you have gotten yourself a CPR number, and from that day on, you can order and borrow books from the BAAA library and from the national library portal bibliotek.dk.

Your data will be deleted 1 year after you've left BAAA - unless you are an active patron still 😉

Not a student at Business Academy Aarhus?

The academy library participates in the national interlibrary loan partnership and you can order almost all our materials via the national library portal bibliotek.dk - and borrow them from your local library.
For free!

• Your student ID card is your library card as well. Use it to borrow library items via the self service device located in the library entrance.
• When logging into the library system via your phone or computer to reserve, renew loans or check your status, you'll need to type in your studentID (find this on your student ID card). Then type the last 4 digits in your CPR number as pincode.
• Are you a student at Ringvej Syd?
  All reservations are sent to the Golden Tooth reception Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday.
  Unless you visit the library and borrow stuff directly.
  You can return books at Golden Tooth by dumping them in the red book box just outside the reception. 
• Hører du til på Sønderhøj 7G eller 30, afhenter og låner du selv materialerne på biblioteket.

• The librarians are always on the lookout for relevant titles for the collection. We keep an eye on which new titles from Danish and English 'favorite publishers' that might support BAAA subjects and students' topics.
• We're very much in need of your input! Are you going to write a report and can't find anything relevant - please contact us.
  We're also buying second hand books if needed.
• The library system continuously presents aquisitions from the last 7 days. In the end of the semester, we cumulate all aquisitions in a newslist with topic headings.

To borrow:

• Books are either on 1 week or 2 weeks lending periods. Books on weekloan have a label sporting 'WEEKLOAN' on the cover.
  All magazines are on 1 week lending period.
• If you're writing a project, you can ask the librarian to prolong the loans until an suitable date - exepting syllabus books.
• The lending period of AV equipment is negotiated individually with the librarian. Learn more about AV equipment at the library webpage.

To renew:

• You can renew materials max 3 times - though not if they're reserved by another patron.
• You can renew magazines and books marked 'WEEKLOAN' 1 day before expiry date.
• You can renew books on regular periods (2 weeks) 3 days before the expiry date.
• If you need to prolong the booking of AV equipment, you'll need to contact the librarians ASAP - the day before expiry date the latest.

• All recalls are sent to the e-mail address (study e-mail or private e-mail) registered in your account.
• You'll receive max. 3 e-mail recalls.
• We don't do fines - they're too bothersome, and we know where you live ...
• If the borrowed stuff isn't returned after 3 recalls, we're posting a settlement of account via secure digital mail (e-boks).
• If you're still not returning the materials, we'll post a bill via secure digital mail (e-boks). Returning the materials in time, we'll forget everything about the bill! We'd rather have our books back than money.
• If you don't return materials and don't pay the bill, your case goes to the governmental debt recovery institution.
  The materials are not ours any longer but yours - and quite expensive too.

The BAAA library subscribe to a host of academic and professional magazines and media, online and print, in Danish and English,

• Via EBSCO Business Source you can access a collection of professional and academic journals in English.
• The database Infomedia contains a collection of Danish news media and magazines.

During your time at the academy, you'll meet the librarians at library courses in desk research or source management.

Course content are planned to fit specific projects, and we don't present the same content twice.
